I love this! I do have to say though, Lady Violet and Kate have some of the most beautiful gowns I have ever seen on a show though, so at least they are really beautiful.
However, I really appreciate your video and seeing a real regency outfit and it's really pretty too!
Just beautiful. After watching historically accurate videos about clothing. Now I can't watch those awful, cliché scenes of people tightening corsets without rolling my eyes.
I forgive you for not having a matching bonnet. The makers of Bridgerton are NOT forgiven though. Like you said, I consider it more of a fantasy drama than historical fiction.
That short stay made Victoria secret push up bras feel incompetent. The things it did to the tatas! I need one! Where did you get/make yours? I looked online a bit and none look as cute as yours here.
Ok, I need short stays. How and where do I find one? Also, where do I need to go where I won't be looked weird at for wearing exclusively Regency, Victorian and Edwardian fashion? Or better yet, where do I get some? Lol.
It drives me absolutely bonkers that the very first episode starts with a woman getting tightly laced into a corset. Corsets didn't exist then (stays are different). Tight lacing was rare because it would rip out hend-sewn eyelets. And they would have been wearing short stays anyway! It was such a stupid scene all around .
Well, I am so glad they aren't using this sort of things. Bridgerton is meant to a smutty romance first, plus the new addition of such a diverse cast with their cultures connected to their characters. We are here for the whimsy and the tea, there are better shows for a more rooted and accurate regency romance. No one expects Pride and Prejudice while reading a RoFan webtoon. Y'all are lacking in serious immersion skills.
It baffles me that you and the few other clearly scholarly and highly credible fashion historians on social media aren't just super busy as technicsl advisors for these shows; given that the fashion is a significant feature! 😑😐🤨

Wow I will add a short stay to my "stuff I want to sew for myself because I'm midsize and everything fits me like a frog after his Sunday dinner"
Where did you get your short stays? I would love to try it myself!!
ANGELICA FROM HAMILTON
My hot flushes could never..😂😂😂😂😂
What threw me is the difference. We see Kate in the short stays, but then Penny is wearing a full corset.
It reminds me of Angelica in Hamilton! ❤
So a short stay was better then a regular bra until we got sports bras??
Wayyyyyy cuter

Daphne and Kate wore stays in their seasons
Love it! So beautiful! And looks so comfortable!
That looks so much better than a corset and explains why their bosoms look the way they do.

This was my dream wedding dress outfit in the days when I loved to fantasise about what sort of wedding I’d want 😊

Love it ❤
This Seems similar to the outfits Kate wore in s2♥️
Cooooooooool ❤
indont understamd why the need to wear corset, the silhouette is loose on the waist with a firm structure , stomachs are free to stick out
for an evening look, you can forgo the bonnet and just do a regency hairstyle 🙂 gorgeous jacket!!!
No one gives a shit, get a life
Maybe we should bring back regency.. that’s a good look!
I think this is my favorote time period for dress
Bridgerton costuming is horrible 🤮
Nice dress, but holy sh*t, that WALLPAPER!!! ❤❤❤
I haven’t worn bras over 10 years because I’ve been waiting for short stays to come back
Regency is so cute and pink silk is stunning.
It was to mimic the ancient Greek style
What is your opinion on the underwear that looks like it belongs in the 1920s?
You’re wearing what the finer 10%. Wore. Those in poverty didn’t have these
Where do we get these?
The clothes aren’t even the most glaringly inaccurate part.
The first season you see Daphne wearing a sty while getting ready.
Beautiful
