My room is in a state of an organized chaos comprised of half finished projects
i know this video was about 3 years ago? but im just going through a break up, i have lots of anxiety and overthinking when he didnt text me 24/7 which wa wrong of me he had boundries he has a life yk, but he also broke up with because hes not ready and his mental health issues back home, but during that i have felt not very happy with myself, obsessing if he would repost on tik tok a famous hot viral girl on there, i would want to text him and i would cry at night, i have not been helping myslef at all and im a very postive person, my ex bf is a very sweet guy he treated me right we just rushed into relationships when we was mature or ready too(i think so anyway). i even was btraying my family by staying up at night but it didnt do nothing but stress and make me tired and it has been overwhelming and he doesnt deserve to be badgered, im not ready at all to be in any romantic relationships any tips of how get control of overthinking anxiety? i really like him but he also told he doesnt know how he feels too but i dont have a clue on what his mental issues are beacuse he hasnt told me so even though i still like him im putting me first(i believe it wasnt love having butterflies and talkinng for 2 months is not love he broke up with me on good terms..)

I took a workshop through my university a couple months ago, and they mentioned a couple things that I found really helpful.
1. Self-care and self-comfort are two distinct things. Self-care is things you do to make yourself healthier physically, mentally, etc. even though you may not feel like doing them all the time (e.g. exercising), they're important for your health. Self-comfort is more like treating myself to a bubble tea every now and again; it may not be the healthiest, but it makes me happy.
2. Boundaries are more about the steps you take to ensure your needs are being met, not demands for another person to change their behaviour. So if your friend is texting you too much, for example, rather than asking them to text you less, a better boundary would be telling them you won't get back to them right away if you're feeling overwhelmed. This is because you can't control other people's actions, and boundaries should focus on what you can control to ensure your needs are being met.

I think people relate self care with nonessential extra things you do, like face masks, green juices, doing meditation, etc. While those are self care things you can do, self care also includes the more essential activities to maintain your health, both physically and mentally. Like drinking water, getting good sleep, eating foods that fuel your body, etc.
